Arriving between 8:00 and 9:30 in the morning offers several advantages. The viewing platforms are considerably quieter, temperatures remain cool, and low-angle sunlight gradually illuminates the river while soft mist occasionally drifts above the valley floor. The famous crescent-shaped bend becomes more defined as the morning light reaches the water, creating the layered colors that have made Moon Bay one of the park's signature landscapes.

Instead of leaving immediately after taking photographs, spend time simply observing the river. The current moves surprisingly gently through the broad valley, reflecting changing clouds and surrounding forests. Depending on the weather, the water can appear jade green, turquoise, or deep sapphire blue within the same morning.

After enjoying the main viewpoint, continue using the shuttle system to nearby scenic stops such as Wolong Bay and Fairy Bay. The three locations complement one another beautifully and are usually explored together.
